Objective: check vocabulary knowledge; demonstrate how to improve answers on reading guides with 05. Move on to Chapter 06.

Direct and guided instruction: demonstrate how to create good answers for reading guides using text. Give students 10 minutes to revise 05 guide.

Objective: Read and comprehend Chapter 06 and beginnng of 07. Demonstrate understanding of 05-07.

EQ. We now know the main characters of the story. How does what we know about them help us translate what they say in Latin?

Finish reading guide 06.

Review student work.

Read aloud chapter 07.

Board race: Who said that?  the words of three characters will be projected on the white board. Two teams compete to identify first who said what and translate the quotation.

Independent: Reading guide for chapter 07. 

Homework: re-read Chapters 06 and 07. Learn new vocabulary.

Thursday May 9

Objective: Reading and comprehension of Chapters 08 and 09 of Ego, Polyphemus. Assess vocabulary learning and retention.
